A tune from Pather Panchali. The movie is very lyrical. It is a sad, but very beautiful movie. If you haven't seen it, do watch. It almost has no story, but is a movie that you will not forget.
Snehal, what a chord u've struck this time! I've always been floored by the character-selection of Satyajit Ray & I feel this movie has been an epitome of that. I remember watching many of his films & being so moved by them. I also remember him receiving his Oscar on his hospital-bed. And my heart melts further as Satyajit Ray looks so similar (physically) to my maternal grandfather. Thank u, so much! :-)
This is a beautiful movie with great character interactions set to a lovely soundtrack. My friend asked me to watch the other Apu Trilogy movies, but movies which depict the tragedy and futility of human interactions disturb me. So haven't seen those yet. But I plan to watch Charulata someday.
I think the movies end on a happy note. Or at least the final one has a happy message to it. I saw them long ago, so I am not totally sure. Of course, most of the time, the two movies are about tragedy.
Yesterday I was thinking about why I liked this movie. I think what I liked the most about this movie was how it transferred me into the movie's world. Like a trip into their life... movies' vicarious offering at it's best.
